Betty the Yeti – Free Crochet Pattern

This quarter I have taken up beading. It was really hard to start. Having the proper tools definitely makes it easier. I highly recommend using the right tools and amazon in order to make progress. Uploading images is proving difficult today. Make sure you check out what I have been up to on Instagram.

Meet Betty the Yeti. I created her for a contest. I didn’t win, but I adore her.

She is made with Bernat Blanket Yarn which is what gives it the super soft snuggliness.

Remember she isn’t tested. Let me know if you have any questions or issues. Please us #drunkenauntwendy if you post so I can find it and give you props.

He’s a giant pirate bear. Right now, he’s 20 inches tall. I’ve run out of stuffing and already have had to go purchase more yarn. This thing is huge.

Awhile back I made a super cute monster that just wants a hug.

This is Clyde.

This is Lila. It was a fun amialong. I wonder what we are going to do next month.

Check the side Instagram feed for Westley and Buttercup. You will want to watch the Princess Bride and re-enact it with the plush dolls.

I’ve got some new designs in the works: Head bands with horns! My daughter is into anime and cosplay, she’s so excited.

Now for your free pattern: Frankenstein’s Monster.

I’ve already posted his bride. You can now make the matching set.

HEAD – in Limelight
The head is made by doing an oval increase. Sometime it helps to mark where your increases are going to go with a spare piece of contrasting yarn. Just note that the first row is worked on both sides of the starting chain. The face is then embroidered on before you add the hair and stuff him.

Ch 8
Round 1: SC in 2nd Ch, SC in next 5 stitches. 3 SC in last stitch. Working in the unused loops from the chain, SC 5, 3 SC in last chain. [18]

Round 6: [6 SC, (2 SC, INC, 2 SC) 3 times] repeat bracket one more time [48].
Rounds 7-17: SC in each stitch for 11 rows [48 stitches per row].
Fasten off. Note: This flat edge is what is attached to the hair. Place the oval increase side at the bottom in order to see placing for eyes and embroidery.
Place safety eyes between rows 10-11 approximately 8 stitches apart. It helps to fold the head flat so you can make sure it is centered on the oval.

Embroider a grey scar over the right eye by making a diagonal straight stitch and crossing the stitch with small straight stitches.

Next to the left eye you will want to embroider a black scar in the same fashion but more upright.

Using red, embroider a small straight mouth centered between the eyes about 5 rows lower.

Make sure you tie all of these off inside the head to prevent unraveling later.

Mummy – Free Crochet Pattern

This week, I am finishing up my testing of Brain and making sure that there are no issues with the pattern. I should have a kit finished by the beginning of next year if you want to make your own brain. Remember, there is exclusive content for those that are mailing list members.

Questions:

  1. What would you like for me to add to the blog? More patterns? Videos?
  2. Mailing list members, would you like an email when I post a new pattern?
  3. What should I make next: Princess Bride? Ghostbusters? Female comic heros? Avengers Infinity War? Leave a comment, Let me know.

I am also working on another faux taxidermy head. This one is a rabbit. The pattern is confusing the crap out of me, but I am plugging along.

Now for the free pattern. He stumbles along and hopes his wrappings don’t come undone. If you make him, post it on Instagram. Use #drunkenauntwendy so I can find him and give you lots of love.

Super cute Mummy. This one actually brings a lot of people to my table whenever I am at a show. It brings them in, but no one ever buys him. He is really sad about that.

This little guy is approximately 8″ when finished. You can make him smaller or larger depending on your hook and yarn size.

Vote for me

This is totally a shameless plug. I’m in a design contest run by amigurumipatterns.net .

They are doing their annual contest, and this year the theme is fantasy creatures. I designed two this year.

Betty the Yeti:

Front view.jpg

and

Thalyssa the Chthulu

KODAK Digital Still Camera

Yes they both have eyelashes. I love putting eyelashes on things.

Anyway, I would love for you to vote for at least one of mine, if not both.

You can vote here. Betty should be in the first image.

One of the voters will win 100 mini balls of yarn so there is something in it for you too.

I will be back to my regularly scheduled pattern posting soon. I think Sister Margaretta will be next.

Bride of Frankenstein – Free Pattern

Halloween is almost upon us. I’m done with the mini-monsters and I will be moving on to Mythical Creatures for an online contest. I’m still typing up the patterns on a regular basis. I’ll try to keep to my current schedule and post them regularly.

I’m also teaching myself how to make soap. It was a project with the kids that I am expanding on.

img_3403
Ohio State Soap is a must in my area
img_3397
Christmas Jello soap.

img_3392
Super cute owl soap.
img_3382
First soaps with the kids.

The goat’s milk soap doesn’t take the colors as well. I’m not sure whether I like the goat’s milk vs. the glycerin that is clearer so the colors are brighter. I am also adding scents, but very lightly as I don’t like strong scents.

Here’s your Bride of Frankenstein Pattern. Again it hasn’t been tested. Join the mailing list for exclusive content. Use #drunkenauntwendy if you make it so I can find it and give you crochet love.

The head is made by doing an oval increase. Sometimes it helps to mark where your increases are going to go with a spare piece of contrasting yarn. Just note that the first row is worked on both sides of the starting chain. The face is then embroidered on before you finish the head and stuff her.

Beetlejuice – Free Pattern

He’s the ghost with the most. Did everyone else love this movie as much as I did? And the cartoon? Sometimes I sing Day-O out of nowhere. People might think I’m a bit nuts.

You can’t really tell from this picture, but I gave him glow in the dark teeth. At night he is spooky, but awesome.

If it is your first time visiting my site, join my mailing list for exclusive content, like Chucky. Also, make sure to look around and check out the other patterns. Many haven’t been tested, so let me know if there are problems. There are several other mini-monsters: Freddy, Samara, Jason, Twisty, and Billy.

Now, “Let’s turn on the juice and see what shakes loose.”

Use #drunkenauntwendy if you make him. I would love to see your work.
