Beetlejuice – Free Pattern

He’s the ghost with the most. Did everyone else love this movie as much as I did? And the cartoon? Sometimes I sing Day-O out of nowhere. People might think I’m a bit nuts.

You can’t really tell from this picture, but I gave him glow in the dark teeth. At night he is spooky, but awesome.

If it is your first time visiting my site, join my mailing list for exclusive content. Also, make sure to look around and check out the other patterns. Many haven’t been tested, so let me know if there are problems.

Now, “Let’s turn on the juice and see what shakes loose.”

Free Pattern Friday – Billy from Saw

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen all my mini-monsters. I love scary movies. I love October because it ends with Halloween. I’ve been having a lot fun with these guys. I’ve made 10 that will be typed up and make it onto the blog. Samara, the Babadook and Freddy Krueger are already up.

The movie series Saw pits the victims against elaborately constructed “Games” to make them learn the value of life. These games are often introduced by a ventriloquist puppet.

Next in my series of mini movie monsters we have The Babadook from the movie of the same name. Your finished little monster will be about 5″ from top of his hat to the end of his outfit.

I find him super cute and not creepy at all. Again not tested, so let me know if you have problems. Coming soon we should have Jason, Michael Myers, Pennywise and Twisty. At least that is my 1st 6. I’ve sketched 6 more. I’m working on Ghostface now. I had to rework him as he looked too much like Jack Skellington.

Frostina and Sparky

I think these two might be my favorite. The pictures don’t show how sparkly she is. I also love their expressions and striped arms. Since they are hot and cold, Katy Perry music runs through my head when I look at them.

Look at all this sparkly hair.

DSC_9238

I also love how long I made the arms.

They will be up here free for two weeks. Let me know if there are any problems or any of the instructions are unclear.

Parentheses indicate a repeat. Repeat the stitches in the parentheses for the number of times indicated.

The bracketed number [] is the number of stitches at the end of each row.

I spread my increases out so there isn’t a seam on the finished piece. If you do not like this method, you can do regular increases.

Seneca – The evil monster

Standard
Seneca – The evil monster

2015-08-07 13.59.44

I was playing with my monsters and I thought I should make an evil one. Actually, I just wanted to make a mustache and this is what happened. It looks nothing like my original sketch. My daughter thought he looked like the game maker from Hunger Games. Hence the name.

I’m not positive I like his stalk eye. I’m wondering if it should be skinnier. I do like the splotches and the mustache just makes me laugh. The arms are fun and I’m enjoying seeing all the different things I can do with a body part after I make it. For example, the arms would be really good puppy ears.

2015-08-07 13.59.55

Please feel free to test this out. Let me know if there are any problems. It will be available free for two weeks until August 21. Then I will take Seneca down and put up a new pattern that will stay free forever. (My husband wants me to make emoji pillows, I want to make a carrot. I don’t know which one will win.)

Here’s the .pdf. Please let me know if you have any problems or anything is confusing.

8/26/15 – Updated

The pattern is no longer free. It is available for purchase on Etsy, Craftsy, and Ravelry.

Mango and Tango – monsters out on the town.

Standard
Mango and Tango – monsters out on the town.

2015-07-19 12.51.19-1

I present Mango and Tango. Tango is taking his monster lady friend out on the town dancing. Here’s hoping their tails don’t get tangled.

I tried new things on these two. I added eyelids:

2015-07-13 22.52.52

And I used doll eyelashes. This shows Mango without her lashes:

2015-07-19 00.13.30

I’m still deciding whether I like the eyelashes or not.

The pattern will be free for two weeks. Let me know if you have any issues, problems or if anything is confusing. I have several more monsters in the works. If these two aren’t your favorites, I’m sure I’ll eventually find one you like. Also, I will be breaking it up as follows: Three sets of monster patterns and then something else for one week, repeat. This is until I get tired of monsters.

(Updated 8/7/15)

Thanks to everyone who tried out the pattern. I didn’t get any complaints so I’m going to post it to Etsy, Ravelry and Craftsy.

The new monster pattern Seneca will be up today.
