Dear Wendy,
thanks a lot for your pattern and the great effort to make it for other people. Made Brobee and Muno for the kids from friends. Think they will be very happy to get. So it sounds very nice that you are working on the pattern for Foofa because I have to make a present for three kids 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words. Foofa is really only a half a leg away from being done. I hope to get the pattern up here within the next two weeks. I hope the kids like their presents.
Wendy
Your english is better than quite a few native speakers so I wouldn’t apologize.
Can’t wait to see pattern. Have three nieces crazy about Yo Gabba Gabba. Hoping to make them the set in time for Christmas. Thanks so much! Made my Christmas list a tad shorted. Best Bev
Good luck. These patterns make huge stuffed plushies. Due to the time constraints, If you want to go smaller you can check out Crafty is Cool. Her’s are about 12″ tall instead of my giant ones. I will get the Foofa pattern up this weekend and I am currently working on Plex.
Thank you thank you thank you for coming with this pattern.. I will post a pic of this when I am done making this for my little one for Christmas.. I have been looking for this like crazy.. Is this going to be the same size as Brobe and Muno dolls? If so this is so freaken great!!!! Thanks again for coming up with the pattern…
Hi Wendy!! I think this is so wonderful that you came up with this pattern. I just have a couple of questions for you. 1, how many skiens of the pink yarn did you use? Also I caught a typo for you. on the leggs part it says body instead of feet.. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks.. I will send you a picture of how mine looks when it is done..
Thanks so much. I was using the 7oz skeins from Hobby Lobby. To be on the safe side get at least 3. I look for the typo. Thanks so much for telling me about it. Plex is almost done, I hope to have him up on the blog soon.
I absolutely love your Yo Gabba Gabba series. I hope you are able to do them all, and hopefully I can start working on them. Both my kids just love that show and it would be great for Christmas.
I was looking back through the archive and fell in love with alot of your others (especially angry birds and boob scarf).
Keep up the beautiful work, will send pics if I can find time to work . 🙂
Kristine, thank you so much. If you are making them for Christmas I’d start now. They are huge :). Plex will be up soon and then I’ll start on the blue one. I’ll try to post more.
I hope to have it done soon. I have one more to go after this. If you need one soon, craftyiscool has a really good patterns that are already done. Thank you for the compliment. I really appreciate it.
Thank you soooooo much for this! I have been trying to find a pattern to make a brobee for my 1 year old daughter. I will most definetly send you a picture of my finished product! So far it is turning out great. Personally I love the size of this thing, just makes it more of a snuggle pillow. 🙂 Thanks again!!! đź€
Hi Wendy, I did finish the doll. She took some where around 5 pounds of pillow stuffing. This doll go everywhere with us. She was a big hit at Hobby lobby the other night. Let me know if you would like to see the pics. I can email them to you… See ya April
Thanks so much, I know she is absolutely huge. The little ones I make them for like having toys their own size. I’d love pictures. If you don’t mind me posting them, I’ll put them up on the blog. My email is wendythornburg@yahoo.com.
I’ve made it twice from the pattern and a couple of other people have made it from the pattern. This is the first I’m hearing of problems. If you tell me where you are having trouble, maybe I can help you sort it out.
I really love to help you out and to clarify anything in the pattern that may be causing you problems.
Let me know via a comment or email me directly at wendythornburg@yahoo.com. I’m pretty quick at responding.
Loooove the yo gabba gabba patterns!!! My friend sent me the link to foofah & I saw muno, brobee & the start of plex is there a toodee?? Or will there be??
Thank you so much. Plex is actually almost done. I know I’ve said that for awhile, but I promise I just need to finish his legs, hands and feet.
As for toodee, I feel I must do it to complete the set so it will eventually be up here. They take so long to finish that I have to mix in other projects while I go or I will get bored and never finish them.
I’m new at reading patterns for crochet…so I’m having a hard time reading the pattern for the devil horns. Is there any way you could simplify it for me? I’m not sure what an increase is, or where you link or where you turn? Thanks!
Thanks for visiting. An increase in crochet is two single crochet stitches in one stitch. There are no turns in this pattern and no joining stitches. It is worked in the round like amigurumi.
Hope that helps. If you have more questions, please let me know.
Sorry for the delay, I don’t know why my page isn’t letting me know when people comment. You can modify it. I would check the gauge and then standard sizing for a 10 year old and increase the stitches to get that size. A pink devil beanie would be really cute.
Where you ever able to finish plex? I love your patterns for yo gabba gabba and can’t wait to finish the set. Well minus one lol. Plus plexus is my daughters favorite. Thanjs tor all the great large patterns!
I actually have it almost done. I am working on the feet now. I keep having to set it aside and work on smaller items for my craft fairs. It will be up. I just can tell you when.
I just finished making brobee for my little grandson who is 3 1/2 yrs. old and plan on giving it to him for Easter. It turned out so cute, and I know he will love it, especially the size. I look for amigurumi patterns all the time also. I wonder if you have the pattern finished for plex and tootie, the fox looking one. I am getting ready to start muno next. Thank you so much for sharing your patterns, it makes it so much easier for people like me. You do such a beautiful job capturing these characters. God bless you, đź‰
so you are still working on plex? and I’m not sure of the blue fox looking one? Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you when you are finished. Thanks again, Vickie… 🙂
Hi there! I am making this tote for Mother’s day! My mom just loves sunflowers! I am just wondering which side of the bag is supposed to be the “right side”? I can’t really tell from the pictures! I assume the back loop crochets are supposed to form a sort of design (and therefore that is the right side), but also I have a section where you can see staggering where I have moved up with each round. Very cute bag-can’t wait to finish up and give it to my Mom!
I made this pattern with a slightly bigger needle (size G) and he ended up huge! He was easily as big as the two year old I made him for. It was pretty awesome to present her with a life-sized Brobee. Thanks.
HI Wendy,
I have questions for you. The connectors between claws and body? What is that? How many stitches is in row 2 of the white of the eyes?
I have a customer looking for a crab for a barbecue she is having and would like me to make one for her. Your pattern and design seems easy enough to make, and it is very cute.
The connectors are like the legs that attach the claws to the body. There are 12 stitches in the second row of eyes. You do a normal increase and then do two hdc in the same stitch, then a normal increase and repeat.
Hope that helps. Please send any completed photos. I’m trying to set up a photo gallery of completed projects.
If you have any other questions, pleae let me know.
Hello I love your pattern thank you so much for sharing I have started on it but am having problem on the body and was wondering if u could help… So after the sc and it say you should have 66 the next rnd says u should have 70 but I end up with 72 please help and thanks
I love this, I recently decided to make my niece a Bacon scarf, but the only ones out there were a huge intarsia chart or they were just striped. This one has great texture and is only two colors, but the two.strands together rows are genius. I am working on it with a brownish red chunky yarn and an off white tan-ish Homespun. It’s looking great, ill have to email you a picture when its done! There’s several site which have compiled Bacon scarf patterns, and your pattern isn’t on any of them, but then this one is much more recent. Great work, I love it!!!!!
I’m so glad you like it. I like that it allows for a lot of flexibility. You can make it thick or thin and change the colors up at random. Please send me a photo when you finish. I am trying to develop a reader made section so people can see how other’s projects have turned out.
In Round 8, (SC, INC, SC) is 4 stitches done 6 times will equal 24 stitches. You can do (2SC, INC) if you want. I do it this way so there isn’t a spiral indicating the increase stitches on the finished product.
As for 17-19 – the numbering program on my ipad decided to skip some lines and I didn’t notice it until now. Thank you for pointing it out.
LOVE this! My son is asking for him so I’ll be starting. Wondering if you finished Plex yet… He was looking pretty great from what I saw. Would love to work on him as well.
Do you have a pattern for the angry bird the mighty eagle? If so is it large and will you be posting it? I love your patterns they are so easy to read and make…Thanks for all yuo post…
so have u done more than the three u have??? I also want to do them all!!! I am on Brobee, I am going to do Foofa, and than Muno, but need Toodee, and Plex and the white guy as well…… have u dont Toodee??? could u email it to me, thnx
Omg! I love this 🙂
I am vegan and I have a niece who is OBSESSED with bacon and we joke all the time how she’d join me in veganism if bacon wasn’t meat! I am making us matching scarves for Christmas
You are awesome!
Hi Wendy, I have a couple of questions regarding this pattern. I love it btw, I love that it looks like real bacon rather than just a ripple scarf in red and white.
First question- Do you only need one ball of each color of yarn? You don’t list a quantity in your supply list.
Second question- In rows 10 and 18, you say to switch to hook E, but your supply list calls for a G and H hook, no mention of an E.
Could you clarify this to me in an email please? I really appreciate it. Also about how long is the scarf once its done?
Thanks again,
Caresse
Hi Wendy, I am progressing well with my first hedgehog BUT I’m stuck at Row 23-25 where it says repeat Row 25?? A typo I think, so which row do I repeat? Please help, I’m so close to the end : ( , thanks
Thanks Wendy, I finished her & I’m absolutely delighted with the outcome!! Thank you for sharing her. I’m itching to make another one : ) Regards Theresa
Oh my god this is so cool! It isn’t like a lot of other bacon patterns that just have stripes or whatever, this ACTUALLY looks like a strip of bacon. I think I’ll have to make this for my meatatarian friend for her birthday, haha. Great pattern!
Wow this will be much more complicated than the scarves and blankets I have made in the past, however my grandson will love it. I hope I am up to the challenge.
Thanks for your creativity and generosity!!!
I am going to start this today, but am going to switch up the colors. Do not have enough of any of my greens to do it and do not want to go out in the cold. He is going to be a big mishmash of colors. We will see how he turns out.
Ladies I need help with the instructions for head and body Can any one explain to me how to do since you finish with no problem, please ,please….
Gratefully appreciate .
Irma
Wendy,is the instructions I don’t understand like row 1-[sc18(inc,sc)3 times]twice
I can’t figure out . can you explain how to do this,in plain English and no brackets ,if you can explain I think I understand the next rows.
Thanks a lot .
Irma
You continue the stitches around on the other side. The set up row had you crocheting 18 into your start chain, making three stitches in the last chain. Then you use the unused loops from the start chain (the reverse side) and repeat. Both sides of the set up chain are used.
How did you do your set up row, as I think that might be the issue?
All I can say is, I don’t get it. I have been crocheting for over 40 yrs and this just don’t add up. That is probably why that one woman’s Brobee turned out so big. She had to play with the stitches to make it right in the corners.
Brobee is supposed to be huge. He is almost 3 feet tall when finished. I would be happy to make the pattern clearer if there is a specific question to tell me what the problem is. The patterns are offered for free and I don’t have testers. Comments with specific problems or issues help me and others with the patterns. Comments like this are counterproductive.
I am so glad you like the other patterns. My lift went a little topsy turvy lately and I haven’t had much of a chance to crochet. I also have kids now through marriage and they are a bit old for Yo Gabba Gabba. I have it on my list of things to do. Sadly, I never seem to have any time to crochet. I want the full set so I will get to it. I promise to post it here as soon as it is done.
GOD willing u be able to have some free time to crochet… I too am waiting, and I will wait as long as it takes….. I can do it!!, lol… thnx for the responds, and getting back to updating us… means alot… cant wait till u can have the other ones done…. thank you again, for giving us the ability to do them as well… thank you Wendy!!
I am working on one other thing right now and then I will make Plex again. I have to start over because my Chihuahua ate the first pattern. It will be at least a month.
I AM NEW TO USING A COMPUTER. I DON’T SEE A PINTEREST SIGN OR SOMETHING THAT I CAN DOWNLOAD THE PATTERN. HOW CAN I GET THE PICTURE AND THE PATTERN SHORT OF HAND COPING THE PATTERN? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
Oh my goodness! Love, love, love this bacon scarf! I was asked to make a bacon scarf for a fb friend, but all I could find was striped ripple patterns…blah! This fits the bill perfectly!!! Your work is amazing!!
Thank you!
Mama Jo’s Inspired by Love
congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals! I can’t wait to see more of your creations! I’m eagerly awaiting the finish of the avengers… Take your time, enjoy being a bride, it only happens for a day… then you get to be a wife! enjoy it!!
[…] After mastering how to crochet in the round and finishing the first hat I began making the first baby hat. The red one with a buckeye and leaves. This one took me about an hour to do for just the hat portion. The buckeye and leaves didn’t take too long either. I used this tutorial for the hat and made it the 3-6 month old size. The tutorial was very detailed and easy to understand! To make the leaves and buckeye use the pattern located here. […]
I am trying. Finding time for yarn craft is a lot more difficult with children and a husband. For some reason they want me to pay attention to them too :).
I’m working on a few things and I am trying to update more.
I made this scarf for my bf for his birthday tomorrow.. Cant wait for him to get it! It looks SO REAL. Wish I could post a pic 🙂 thanks for the pattern 🙂
This is my first attempt at Amigurumi and I’m confused. Is this worked in the round? And can you do it with the magic ring process instead if it is in the round? And do you chain any between the rows? Thanks!!
This project is worked in the round. I personally do not like the magic ring, but it is perfectly fine if you want to start your project that way. Do not chain between rounds. You will work in a continuous spiral around the body. The loop stitch shows on the wrong side of the fabric so when you are doing Helga’s quills, you will need to turn the project around. It says so in the pattern. Good luck and let me know if you have more questions.
I used less than one of each. If you want your bacon to be your own individual scarf, feel free to change the colors at random. I wrote down in the pattern when I changed them.
Hi Wendy, Thanks for sharing your pattern on Mr. Sniffles. As a biochemist, I think he is adorable!! The chart was easy to follow – the biggest challenge was to get the ‘vings’ symmetrically stitched onto the virus. I wrote about him on my blog – and linked to your blog for the details đź‰
I just finished all my increases in the head and I’m starting on my rounds. After seeing all the comments about being confused on the increases, I thought I’d share a tip that worked for me. Mark the first increases at each end of the work with a contrasting yarn scrap or stitch marker. This will help you realize where those first stitches are so when you come back around you know where to put your next increases. I only had to do this for the first few rounds….then it was all counting! I hope this helps! Thank you so much for the free pattern! I can’t wait to finish this and give it to my daughter for her 2nd birthday!

Ok I have one question on row 4 you finish with 216 Sts. Which I have. So if I sc the first 2sts then do the () part which is 20 sts. In () then sc 9, then 3sc in next st, then sc in last st. Iam only using 213 sts and I have left over at end of row. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks. I love the pattern be the way.
I would just SC the last couple of stitches. It was a really free form pattern. I never tested it. Any time you run into left over stitches, just SC them.
SO AWESOME! I had some of Vanna’s Choice new Brick color, and it looks super awesome! Once I take better pics I’ll send them. Next one I’m going to do the “curly fat” rows on both sides. It’s super great as it is, but I love that you can make a whole bunch and have them all be slightly different. Just like real slices of bacon!
I also wanted a “fluffier” fabric, so I used the hook size suggested on the skein (J) for the single yarn rows, and a size N for two. Not that I needed to use one that big to handle both strands, but I like the way the bigger stitches look placed in the middle of the bacon. 🙂

This sounds excellent – hard to wait! Love the new plan – especially love the picture part because I am a visual person & like to see if what I am making is coming out like it is suppose to.
I’m kind of confused on round 10… I’ve never made a loop stitch before.. I know it says that all Increases are loops unless otherwise specified, but if I do that on round 10, it kinda looks wierd. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?
Make sure that your have turned it so the wrong side is facing. The loop stitch goes out. And I think you may be talking about the (4sc, inc) section. Those are not loop stitches. Thank you for letting me know it was unclear. There will be a flat set of stitches on the bottom so it lays flat and the loop stitches are around the sides and top. I will make a note to edit this and make it clearer.
I had no idea my patterns had travelled so far. Thank you so much for sharing. Good luck with Foofa. I think that one took me almost a month to finish. :).

The small claw is crocheted to the large claw. You crochet around the large claw and then the small one. You then just continue in the round. There will be a tiny hole that you will need to sew up later.
absolutely love your pattern I have a coworker who has been begging for a bacon scarf for when she goes to a beacon festival this year I am finally going to try out this pattern will send you a picture when I am done. thanks a bunch for your hard work..you rock
In row 5 it says to have 227 stitches.I am 8 stitches to short what am I doing wrong can you help me.In row 4 I came out to 216 like it said. Please e-mail me and let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks
Thank you for this pattern! I can’t wait to try it! My family (who, incidentally, is related to the great Woody Hayes) is from Columbus, and my grandfather used to usher at the Horseshoe at every home game. (Only missed two games in 30+ years!) I’m such a devoted Buckeye fan, my kitchen is scarlet and gray. This pattern will definitely go on my to-do list!
That’s a great story. I hope you like the pattern. Let me know if there are any problems. Also send me a picture if you want. I love to see finished works.
I love the look of your bacon scarf, and I’d love to make it, but I do have a few questions. How long is the finished scarf? In the beginning of the pattern, it does not say which hook size to use. Would I start with an E hook? I hope to hear from you soon, thanks!
I really love this! I work with a crazy lady who obsesses over her bacon and I’d love to make this for her!! I am just confused on what you mean for the increase? Is it in one loop? Or two for (x) amount of time? I’m sure I’ll figure it out but a little guidance would be appreciated! Then I can give that crazy bacon lady a bacon scarf 🉠Thank you for sharing this pattern! (I’ve also found an egg hat and buttered toast mittens lol)
I ordered the yarn so I could test the pattern and it was the wrong color. I hope to the store tomorrow and then I can test the pattern. I do apologize.
No apologies necessary! I wouldn’t even have a chance to make it before Xmas. I just hadn’t seen another post with Ralphie in it. I’ve never even seen him in his crochetd pink glory, so I was hoping the pattern would be available eventually!
Crystal: I haven’t had a chance to test the pattern. I can send you a .pdf of the pattern untested if you would like to test it for me. Its typed at least so you don’t have to deal with my chicken scratch.
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your hard work. I love the patterns. I hope to get a few of the monsters made before the fall sales start.
Thanks Again. Waiting for your next email.
Karen A.
I have been looking for a pattern like this for a year. Thank you.
Have you thought about making a YouTube video for this. Unfortunately, I am a better learner through watching than reading. But I am going to give it my best shot. Thanks.
I don’t think I am YouTube ready. I have been looking into the necessary editing software and hardware as I think just watching me crochet for a few hours would be really boring.

Start with a longer chain. Then adjust the pattern by how many you increased either at the end or beginning of each row, It is a fairly freeform pattern.

Hi I’m trying to figure out how to start the head with the chain eight then the 5 sc 3sc etc and honestly has me a bit lost could you break it down for me on how I should get started does it start with a magic circle ?
It is an oval increase, not a circle. Chain 8, turn and SC in 2nd chain from hook. The Sc for 5 more stitches. You will place 3 SC in the last stitch and then you work the rest on the other side of your 1st 6 stitches. Here’s an ehow that has pictures demonstrating the technique: https://www.ehow.com/how_2093630_crochet-basic-oval-shape.html

Do you have a revised pattern? The body count is off too I noticed it in the first row of orange. For row 18 of the head I did 6sc, 6inc, 7sc, 7 invisible dec, 3sc. Tail I’m just doing a row of straight sc to catch up with your numbers
I would just SC the last couple of stitches. It was a really free form pattern. I never tested it. Any time you run into left over stitches, just SC them.
Hi my husband loves pinky and brain I’m doing pinky starting on head it calls for 18sts I count 17 in the 1st row…. Ch 8 sc 2nd and next 5 3sc in the last opp side sc 5 3sc last adds up to 17

Hi! Thank you so much for posting this pattern! My sister is a huge fan of â€A Christmas Story’, so I plan on making this for her. Approximately how tall is the finished product? Is it small enough to be an ornament? Thanks again!
I love this! I want to make it for my sister, who is a huge fan of â€A Christmas Story.’ Approximately how tall is the finished product? I’d like to make it as an ornament for Christmas. Thanks!!!
Having trouble starting is it ch5 1sc in 2nd ch than 2 sc in 3 ch than skip 4 ch and 3 sc in 5th ch than turn and 3 sc in all stitches on other side ? I hope you can understand what I am saying?
SC in the 2nd chain from hook. Sc in each of the next two stitches, 3 SC in the 5th chain, turn SC in 3 of the stitches on the reverse side and then 3 SC in the beginning loop. This gives you an oval to start with. 3 stitches on each end with 3 stitches on each side in between the ends. Hope this helped.
Hello what a beautifull pattern. But i have a question: row 37 from the body i think its not right or i don’t understand it but if you do dec 16 sc 2x dec 16 sc it is not possible with the stitches what i have because i have 32 stitches. I hope you can understand me my english is not so good
My apologies. This pattern isn’t tested and it looks like I added a few extra rows. Just do a SC row for Row 37. The decreases aren’t necessary for the shaping. I will edit the online pattern.

Hi!
I’m working on this vulpix pattern and it has been super. However, I’m up to the tail and I’m very confused about how to make the tail curls. I’m sure it’s user error, but is there another way you could explain 3SC to row 3? Thanks so much!
You will actually go to row three and SC into three stitches to make the curl, then back to the row you were working. If you don’t like this part or continue to have difficulty, you can make it straight and sew the curl in.
Hello Wendy! I was looking at your Brutis from Ohio State. The pattern that I was looking at didnt say once what size crochet needle that I needed to use?
I use an E, but you can use whatever size makes your stitches tight enough to keep the stuffing in. A larger hook, will result in a larger finished toy.

Hi! love this pattern so far, but can you please explain the plaiting on the tail? what are the unworked loops? how many should i have? what should it look like when i’m done? also, how should i sc the opening together? thanks!
Starting in Row 36 you do a few rows in the Back loops only. The unworked loops are the remaining loops in those rows. You will have six rows of plating. It will look like a row of ruffles going down the back of the piece.
To sc an opening together, you fold the opening in half and SC through both stitches to close it.
Glad to have Brutus pattern. BODY rows 7 to 9 use grey then change to red for rows 9 to 12. Numbers are conflicting. Would be helpful if all rows are numbered.
Hi! I’m not sure if I have the right amount of stitches in the body. At row 13 I have 48 stitches, at 35 I have 36 stitches. At the rows 32 and 34 I had to add an extra SC between DEC.
Sorry my English, it’s not my first language.
Hello! How many stitches should I have at rows 13 and 35 of the body? Mine has 48 at row 13 and 36 at row 35.
Also, at the plating on tail, the ruffles should be aligned with the opening of the body that I SC together? (sorry for my English)

Followed your pattern stitches are correct each row but head and body don’t match up to sew together. Feel like part of head pattern missing after eyes and mouth say fasten off?? Body so small confused……
Are you making the top of head to close it up? It is the next section after head. The neck and the body won’t match up as the body is much smaller than the head.

One of the poorest written patterns I’ve ever used. The increases make no sense. Round 1 is 18 stitches. Round 2 states 6 SC and 1 increase. It doesn’t work. 3 x 6 is 18. The way it’s written, it would require 21 stitches in round 1, not 18. I had to refigure every round.
So, I am wondering if you missed the part of the pattern that said to repeat the part in brackets.
You may have issues with how the pattern is showing on your device.
The actual text of Round 2 is – Round 2: [6 SC, (INC) 3 times] repeat bracket one more time [24].
This would make Round 2 written out as – SC, SC, SC, SC, SC, SC, INC, INC, INC, SC, SC, SC, SC, SC, SC, INC, INC, INC which equals 24 stitches. For an oval, I place the increases on the sides with the Single crochet in between. This continues for the next few rounds where the increases are on the sides and there are 6 increases per round.
If you missed the repeat that would make it hard.
But you are being rather mean about a free pattern.
I’m confused about the tails. It just ends with “Join with SL ST, Fasten Off.
Sew overlapping to bottom of lobster tail.” I have a long, skinny cone with an open end. So I close the end somehow? Do I sew it on with the open end or the pointy end facing away from the body? There’s no picture that shows the tail, so I can’t figure out how the tails work.
My nieces are crazy about this show! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you so much. I hope you have as much fun making him as I did designing him.
how big is he finished?
He is approximately 2 feet tall if not a little bigger. I went a little overboard on the size of this one. Have fun.
Dear Wendy,
thanks a lot for your pattern and the great effort to make it for other people. Made Brobee and Muno for the kids from friends. Think they will be very happy to get. So it sounds very nice that you are working on the pattern for Foofa because I have to make a present for three kids 🙂
best regards from Munich, Germany
Andi
Sry about my bad english o_O
Andi:
Thank you so much for your kind words. Foofa is really only a half a leg away from being done. I hope to get the pattern up here within the next two weeks. I hope the kids like their presents.
Wendy
Your english is better than quite a few native speakers so I wouldn’t apologize.
Andi, the Foofa pattern is up. Have fun.
Can’t wait to see pattern. Have three nieces crazy about Yo Gabba Gabba. Hoping to make them the set in time for Christmas. Thanks so much! Made my Christmas list a tad shorted. Best Bev
Bev,
Good luck. These patterns make huge stuffed plushies. Due to the time constraints, If you want to go smaller you can check out Crafty is Cool. Her’s are about 12″ tall instead of my giant ones. I will get the Foofa pattern up this weekend and I am currently working on Plex.
Thank you so much for following me.
Wendy
I LOVE your Yo Gabba Gabba plushies! One day I am going to make these for my son and his cousin. I can’t wait for Plex! Awesome work!
These are SO cute. Surprisingly large, but I think that makes them more fun. Looking forward to making them, and I can’t wait for Plex too!!
April:
Thanks so much. I was using the 7oz skeins from Hobby Lobby. To be on the safe side get at least 3. I look for the typo. Thanks so much for telling me about it. Plex is almost done, I hope to have him up on the blog soon.
I can’t wait to see your pictures.
Wendy
I absolutely love your Yo Gabba Gabba series. I hope you are able to do them all, and hopefully I can start working on them. Both my kids just love that show and it would be great for Christmas.
I was looking back through the archive and fell in love with alot of your others (especially angry birds and boob scarf).
Keep up the beautiful work, will send pics if I can find time to work . 🙂
Kristine, thank you so much. If you are making them for Christmas I’d start now. They are huge :). Plex will be up soon and then I’ll start on the blue one. I’ll try to post more.
Too cute! I love all your work. My nieces will go crazy when they finally get the set I have been making from your patterns.
Thank you so much! Please send me photos of the finished project. I’d love to see it.

She is so cute. Thank you very much for sharing :o)
Thank you for kind words.
I can’t wait to see it!! My son LOVES plex and it is hard finding good patterns for him. You do amazing work!
I hope to have it done soon. I have one more to go after this. If you need one soon, craftyiscool has a really good patterns that are already done. Thank you for the compliment. I really appreciate it.
Im a vegatarian and I think that is awesome!
We’ll can call it the Veggie Bacon scarf.
Thanks.
Thank you soooooo much for this! I have been trying to find a pattern to make a brobee for my 1 year old daughter. I will most definetly send you a picture of my finished product! So far it is turning out great. Personally I love the size of this thing, just makes it more of a snuggle pillow. 🙂 Thanks again!!! đź€
I can’t wait to see it. I only warn of the size for those who think they are getting something small or want a quick project.
I’m so glad you like it.
Hi Wendy, I did finish the doll. She took some where around 5 pounds of pillow stuffing. This doll go everywhere with us. She was a big hit at Hobby lobby the other night. Let me know if you would like to see the pics. I can email them to you… See ya April
April,
Thanks so much, I know she is absolutely huge. The little ones I make them for like having toys their own size. I’d love pictures. If you don’t mind me posting them, I’ll put them up on the blog. My email is wendythornburg@yahoo.com.
Thanks again,
Wendy

Totally going to make one for my boyfriend- The Michigan Fan! Hahahahaha
Hilarious, I’m sure he’ll love throwing it at the screen.
Has this pattern been tested?
I love it, but I keep running into problems on the legs.
Lauren:
Thank you so much. Plex is actually almost done. I know I’ve said that for awhile, but I promise I just need to finish his legs, hands and feet.
As for toodee, I feel I must do it to complete the set so it will eventually be up here. They take so long to finish that I have to mix in other projects while I go or I will get bored and never finish them.
Wendy
I’m new at reading patterns for crochet…so I’m having a hard time reading the pattern for the devil horns. Is there any way you could simplify it for me? I’m not sure what an increase is, or where you link or where you turn? Thanks!
Katie:
Thanks for visiting. An increase in crochet is two single crochet stitches in one stitch. There are no turns in this pattern and no joining stitches. It is worked in the round like amigurumi.
Hope that helps. If you have more questions, please let me know.
Wendy
Hi, Wendy, could this pattern be modified to make a beanie for a 10 year old? #devilbeanie in pink is what my kiddo wants
Brandi:
I actually have it almost done. I am working on the feet now. I keep having to set it aside and work on smaller items for my craft fairs. It will be up. I just can tell you when.
Wendy
Too cute, love it!
Thanks so much.
She is cute =>
Thank you. I’m pretty fond of her.
I love this pattern! Thanks for sharing it. What size hook did you use?
I use an E hook for all my stuffed creatures. Just make sure yours is small enough that the stitches are tight so the stuffing peeks out.
Thanks for the compliment. I’d love to see any finished item.
Wendy
cute crab, but the things you called antenna are actually the crabs eyes, and the spot where you added eyeballs is where their mouth parts belong.
I bet he will love it. I will keep working on the other two. Hopefully, I will get them done eventually.
so you are still working on plex? and I’m not sure of the blue fox looking one? Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you when you are finished. Thanks again, Vickie… 🙂
My son is a huge bacon fan. I have to limit the amount Of “I Love Bacon” shirts he buys at ten years old. So this is the ultimate scarf for him.
The back loops should form the edge on the base so it goes from the bottom up to the side pattern. I hope that helps. Your mom is going to love it.
This is adorable. I will have to try making one!
I would love to see any pictures of any completed projects.
It may be awhile as I have several knitting projects I have to do but I will definitely post a picture if I make one.
I made this pattern with a slightly bigger needle (size G) and he ended up huge! He was easily as big as the two year old I made him for. It was pretty awesome to present her with a life-sized Brobee. Thanks.
I bet it was huge. I hope the two year old was really happy.
this has got to be the best thing ever! thank you xxx
The friend I made it for really liked it.
HI Wendy,
I have questions for you. The connectors between claws and body? What is that? How many stitches is in row 2 of the white of the eyes?
I have a customer looking for a crab for a barbecue she is having and would like me to make one for her. Your pattern and design seems easy enough to make, and it is very cute.
Thank You for posting the pattern.
Kathy,
The connectors are like the legs that attach the claws to the body.
Wendy
I can’t wait to make these for my grandkids. I look forward to seeing Toodee and Plex. These are AMAZING!!
Thank yoy so much.
on step 3 for the legs, i was wondering whats BLO?
Work in the Back Loops Only. That will make it fold and make the foot flat.
Hello I love your pattern thank you so much for sharing I have started on it but am having problem on the body and was wondering if u could help… So after the sc and it say you should have 66 the next rnd says u should have 70 but I end up with 72 please help and thanks
Lisa,
I would just do two spaced out decreases rather than starting over. It won’t show and it will get you back on track with the numbers.
Wendy
Reblogged this on mypinkrainbow…inside a ring on fire...
What is the email address? I’m accessing this though my phone and WordPress is not cooperating very well.

Thanks for the great pattern! “My Brobee” turned out HUGE, really don’t know what I did “wrong” but my son is in love.
http://www.stitchinglilies.com/my-brobee/
He’s adorable and perfectly the right size. I try to warn people that he is huge.
Good! In the above comments you posted he was approximately 2 feet tall so I was thinking I was off with something! I love the size!
you should adapt for bigger babys i have a 1 year old and a 3 year old would love one for either!
Its in my list of things to do, I just haven’t gotten to it yet. I think it would be really cute on a bigger kid.
I noticed some errors. HEAD: round 8: SC 2, inc.
If I do “sc, inc, sc” the stitch count doesn’t match.
And where are rounds 17-19?
Hilla:
In Round 8, (SC, INC, SC) is 4 stitches done 6 times will equal 24 stitches. You can do (2SC, INC) if you want. I do it this way so there isn’t a spiral indicating the increase stitches on the finished product.
As for 17-19 – the numbering program on my ipad decided to skip some lines and I didn’t notice it until now. Thank you for pointing it out.
Wendy
LOVE this! My son is asking for him so I’ll be starting. Wondering if you finished Plex yet… He was looking pretty great from what I saw. Would love to work on him as well.
Thanks for the patterns:)
Do you have a pattern for the angry bird the mighty eagle? If so is it large and will you be posting it? I love your patterns they are so easy to read and make…Thanks for all yuo post…
I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’ll post it when I do.
Ok. Thanks for the reply…
Dear Aunt Wendy, You are a genius and we wish you were OUR drunken Aunt Wendy! Thank you for the pattern!
That’s so nice of you. I’ll happily take on more nieces and nephews.
How about adult size please?
I need to do sizing on all my hats to go up to adult. I hopefully will be able to do that in the next year.
Thank you! I know it’s cheeky but please could you email me when you’re ready?? 🙂
I will as soon as I do. It might be awhile. Shoot me an email at wendythornburg@yahoo.com so I can tell you.

My Mom lost both breasts to cancer, one in 1980, the other about 20 years later. She would have loved this scarf.
I’m glad she would have liked it. My friend just lost both and she loves hers.
Omg! I love this 🙂
I am vegan and I have a niece who is OBSESSED with bacon and we joke all the time how she’d join me in veganism if bacon wasn’t meat! I am making us matching scarves for Christmas
You are awesome!
Thank you so much. I hope she loves it.
I am Vegetarian and made this for my bacon loving Bf 🙂 Doesn’t it look so real? 🙂

i too would love an adult version and larger child.. happy to pay x
Hi there, any news when an adult hat for lego will be available? hope your move home went well x
Thanks again,
Caresse
do you have this pattern available?
I adore this. Thank you for being so generous and sharing your porky genius!

The shell is approximately 8-9 inches depending in your hook size.
Hi Wendy, I am progressing well with my first hedgehog BUT I’m stuck at Row 23-25 where it says repeat Row 25?? A typo I think, so which row do I repeat? Please help, I’m so close to the end : ( , thanks
You are right. It’s a typo. Repeat row 22. Sorry about that. Enjoy.
Thanks Wendy, I finished her & I’m absolutely delighted with the outcome!! Thank you for sharing her. I’m itching to make another one : ) Regards Theresa
Sent from my iPad
Its means you have to repeat step 22 for rows 23-25
LOVE! I’ve been looking for a Brobee pattern for my son who will be 2 soon. I made him a Muno already! AND WE LOVE HUGE! lol!
Love it..I want to make a herd of them..LOL…Thanks
Can’t wait till the pattern is available. 🙂
on the top row 17 where it says sc top to bottom..Wha does top to bottom mean? I have never heard that term
You should have already completed the bottom piece in a contrasting color. For row 17, you will crochet the top (the piece you’re currently working on) to the completed bottom. It’s like a crochet join. Here’s a video http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=TmYEsHlgQ30&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DTmYEsHlgQ30
I hope that helps.
I am just wondering, how much wool is needed for the main bag part (green) for the “Handy Crochet Tote” pattern?
Sorry, I just saw this. I used 2 3.5oz balls of Dusty Green in Vanna’s Choice by Lion Brand.
read somewhere that bacon is the meat most vegetarians stray for! I believe it. not a big meat eater… but bacon…. ummmmm
I am going to start this today, but am going to switch up the colors. Do not have enough of any of my greens to do it and do not want to go out in the cold. He is going to be a big mishmash of colors. We will see how he turns out.
Do you happen to have a Brutus hat pattern similar to this available? This is so cute. Thanks for sharing.
Ladies I need help with the instructions for head and body Can any one explain to me how to do since you finish with no problem, please ,please….
Gratefully appreciate .
Irma
Irma:
Are you having trouble with the oval shape? Let me know what exactly you are having trouble with and I’ll be happy to help.
Sincerely,
Wendy
Wendy,is the instructions I don’t understand like row 1-[sc18(inc,sc)3 times]twice
I can’t figure out . can you explain how to do this,in plain English and no brackets ,if you can explain I think I understand the next rows.
Thanks a lot .
Irma
Irma: Sc 18, Increase, SC, INC, SC, INC, SC, SC 18, INC, SC, INC, SC, INC, SC. Does that help? Wendy
So you did first 18 sc,then increase 1sc 3 times in the same row and then you did another row the same .
Wendy Sent from my iPhone
All I can say is, I don’t get it. I have been crocheting for over 40 yrs and this just don’t add up. That is probably why that one woman’s Brobee turned out so big. She had to play with the stitches to make it right in the corners.
Brobee is supposed to be huge. He is almost 3 feet tall when finished. I would be happy to make the pattern clearer if there is a specific question to tell me what the problem is. The patterns are offered for free and I don’t have testers. Comments with specific problems or issues help me and others with the patterns. Comments like this are counterproductive.
OK…so on the area for the head where it says 30 rows sc with spring green is that 30 more rows or continue from row 12
It is 30 more rows of the Spring Green. This puts the head in proportion to the rest of his stripes.
Awesome. Thank you
One question. In the pattern there is a g hook and an h hook. It says e hook on Row 10. Is that supposed to be G?
I made it with an E hook and a H hook. Use the small hook when you are using one color and use the larger hook when you are using two colors.
Thank you! =) I really like the pattern!
is this pattern done, I’ve already made the other three you have done and they turned out awesome waiting for this one

How do I locate this pattern? All I see is the pic and the link to this page.
The pattern is in the text of the page you commented on. Here’s a short link.
You can add it to Pinterest if you have Pinterest set up on your computer. Otherwise if you want to print the pattern, hit control p. Good luck.
mañana lo hago y te envio la foto cuando termine!!!!, MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!
Oh my goodness! Love, love, love this bacon scarf! I was asked to make a bacon scarf for a fb friend, but all I could find was striped ripple patterns…blah! This fits the bill perfectly!!! Your work is amazing!!
Thank you!

Thank you so much. I was having the same problems when I was searching to make one as well. I am glad you like it. Enjoy.
Don’t mean to be a pest…just checking to see if u’ve made any progress on plex since my last message…hope u are staying warm…
Wendy, I love the new colours she is FABULOUS !!!!
Thank you so much. I’m having fun busting through my stash and using all the crazy colors I have bought.
Delightful Wendy !!
Thanks again ;).
Oh my goodness! I have been looking for these for my niece!!! I’m so excited.
I hope she loves them. When I say they are huge, I am not kidding. They are 2-3 feet tall.
Thank you! Did you finish all of them? My sister asked if I’d be willing to do all of them. 🙂
I lost my mojo when it came to these so I haven’t finished all of them. It is hard because I have an almost finished plex, but my dog ate the pattern.
congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals!
Hello, sorry to keep on, but any adult hat available now please? x
Awesome scarf! How much yarn did yours take? Sorry if I have overlooked that part.
What type of yarn is used for this pattern?
And I don’t suppose you have managed to work out different sizes yet?
I think the owner of the pattern has gone now :(. Really would love Adult size pattern of this!
How many balls of wool would I need to make this great scarf?
Hello Wendy,
That is freaky !!! It was only yesterday I visited your site, thinking you have been so quiet since your wedding !!
Great to see you back !!
Kind Regards,
Tracy

Tracy,
I am trying. Finding time for yarn craft is a lot more difficult with children and a husband. For some reason they want me to pay attention to them too :).
I’m working on a few things and I am trying to update more.
Wendy
I made this scarf for my bf for his birthday tomorrow.. Cant wait for him to get it! It looks SO REAL. Wish I could post a pic 🙂 thanks for the pattern 🙂
You can email me a picture at drunkenauntwendy@gmail.com. I’ll post it on the fan project page.
I’m glad you like it.
What size crochet hook? I can’t wait to get started.
I usually use an E hook when doing stuffed creatures to make sure that the stitches are nice and tight and the stuffing doesn’t come out. Have fun.
What hook do you begin the project with. I see towards the end where you switch hooks, but not sure which to begin with. I am assuming H?

Forgive me if this was already asked as answered: how many skeins of each yarn? Thanks!
I have almost finished my pacman ghost but i am conconfused on how to finish it off. I have only started crocheting.

I’m sorry I was MIA for a while. Finishing off in crochet is easy. Cut your yarn and pull it through the open stitch to secure it.
Have fun,

Great patterns. Love your site
This is my first attempt at Amigurumi and I’m confused. Is this worked in the round? And can you do it with the magic ring process instead if it is in the round? And do you chain any between the rows? Thanks!!
Sara Beth:
This project is worked in the round. I personally do not like the magic ring, but it is perfectly fine if you want to start your project that way. Do not chain between rounds. You will work in a continuous spiral around the body. The loop stitch shows on the wrong side of the fabric so when you are doing Helga’s quills, you will need to turn the project around. It says so in the pattern. Good luck and let me know if you have more questions.
Wendy
Thank you so much for the pattern? How many skeins does it take of each color and do you just change the color sequence at random? Thanks a lot!
I used less than one of each. If you want your bacon to be your own individual scarf, feel free to change the colors at random. I wrote down in the pattern when I changed them.
Enjoy.
Thank you so much. I had trouble with sewing symmetrically as well.
What an awesome pattern! Thank you so much for posting it, I’m going to make one for my nephew!
Thanks for the tip. I really appreciate it.
I love this pattern. Would there be a link to make the pattern for the pac man as well??
Brenda:
I appreciate it. I actually modified this pattern from Craftsyiscool for the Pac-Man. It is also a free pattern.

Beautiful yarn – and such a sweet husband! Happy Birthday 🌹🎉đźŽ
Is there a video for this pattern? If so can you tell me where to look cause I’m stuck.
There is just the pattern. I can possibly walk you through it if you tell me where you are having trouble.
I’m so glad you like it and had fun making it your own. Your fried egg hat is a nice addition.
I just ran across a picture of this & laughed not only at the name but I just finished a C2C and would like to share the photo with you.

Ok. Thank you 🙂
She is VERY cute BTW 🙂

After making small claw I don’t understand what to do next.
The small claw is crocheted to the large claw. You crochet around the large claw and then the small one. You then just continue in the round. There will be a tiny hole that you will need to sew up later.
I hope this helps.
That helped, another question on the legs is it just step 3 you do the BLO?
Yes. This makes the ends of the legs flatter so it sits better.

I used a video from the crochet crowd. I don’t have a printed pattern for this blanket.
Thanks a lit, i like your angry bird very much, and this discription helped me.
very awesome patterns-your work is wonderful too. thanks for sharing.
I love the look of your bacon scarf, and I’d love to make it, but I do have a few questions. How long is the finished scarf? In the beginning of the pattern, it does not say which hook size to use. Would I start with an E hook? I hope to hear from you soon, thanks!
It ends up being about 48″ long give or take. You start with the E hook. Have fun making it.

Well considering the source material… Yep!

That makes so much more sense lol it’s been forever since I have done a doll that didn’t have a darn magic circle thanks so much 🙂

And how many grams of each skein do you need to knit a vulpix?
One a piece for this this size.
row18 of the head has typos
Actually it looks like I left out a couple of rows when typing:
Rounds 11-12: 2 rows SC [30 stitches per row]
Round 13: (2 SC, INC, 2 SC) 6 times [36].
Round 14: (5 SC, INC) 6 times [42]
Rounds 15-17: SC in each stitch for 4 rows [42 stitches per row]
Round 18: 7 SC, 7 INC, 11 SC, 7 DEC, 3 SC. [42]
Rounds 19-21: SC in each stitch for 3 rows [42 stitches per row].
Round 22: (5 SC, DEC) 6 times [36].

Thanks!!!
Donna, I’m glad that you like him. As designed he is about 8 inches tall, which would be a pretty big ornament.
Having trouble starting is it ch5 1sc in 2nd ch than 2 sc in 3 ch than skip 4 ch and 3 sc in 5th ch than turn and 3 sc in all stitches on other side ? I hope you can understand what I am saying?
Marilyn:
SC in the 2nd chain from hook. Sc in each of the next two stitches, 3 SC in the 5th chain, turn SC in 3 of the stitches on the reverse side and then 3 SC in the beginning loop. This gives you an oval to start with. 3 stitches on each end with 3 stitches on each side in between the ends. Hope this helped.
Wendy

My apologies. This pattern isn’t tested and it looks like I added a few extra rows. Just do a SC row for Row 37. The decreases aren’t necessary for the shaping. I will edit the online pattern.

Hi there, Your Yakko pattern is not here. Is there any way I could get it? I would love to make them all 🙂
There is a link in the post to a .pdf of the pattern. Look for the words Yakko Pattern.
I loved making Ralphie as my #quarantinecraft of the day (lol), thanks for the great pattern!
I’m impressed that you are doing a quarantine craft a day. I am glad he turned out.

Hi, can you clarify the plaiting on the tail? is it one row or three rows for each row of unworked loops?
Loving this pattern so far!
You will want 3 shells per row. One row per unused loops.

Is the arms made in the round? it doesn’t mention a magic circle. This is a fantastic pattern.
Yes, they are made in the round. I do not use a magic ring. I use the 2 stitch method instead.
I’m looking for syphilis and ebola. Have you tried those yet?
I haven’t. They are on my very long list of things to make.
I’m having trouble with round 8 in the legs. The count doesn’t add up?
Round 7 has 8 stitches. If you do two decreases in the first 4 stitches, you will have 4 stitches left which is enough to do a SC, 2 INC and a SC.
Where exactly are you having an issue?
I think I was only decreasing 2, not doing 2 decreases. So I was working over 2 stitches not 4!
That would make it hard. Glad you figured it out.
Thank you so much!!!

I’m puzzled. What are the instructions beyond finishing the lower beak. You mention sewing instructions are the same as for upper beak but there are NO instructions for sewing upper beak
And is this a pattern for the entire bird or just the head.
The red angry bird really is just a head.
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. Fold in half on the
diagonal. Fold in half to make an open triangle for the beak.
Then you sew it on.

Hi! love this pattern so far, but can you please explain the plaiting on the tail? what are the unworked loops? how many should i have? what should it look like when i’m done? also, how should i sc the opening together?
Hi grreat reading your blog
Are Franken berry head body n legs 1 piece cuz I don’t see a pattern for his legs
No. The Legs and body are. It is in the pattern.
Glad to have Brutus pattern. BODY rows 7 to 9 use grey then change to red for rows 9 to 12. Numbers are conflicting. Would be helpful if all rows are numbered.
I will note that if I ever decide to offer the pattern for sale.

Hi! I’m not sure if I have the right amount of stitches in the body. At row 13 I have 48 stitches, at 35 I have 36 stitches. At the rows 32 and 34 I had to add an extra SC between DEC.
Sorry my English, it’s not my first language.
This is an untested version of the tested pattern. Row 13 you should have 48 stitches. Row 35 you should have 36 stitches
Hello! How many stitches should I have at rows 13 and 35 of the body? Mine has 48 at row 13 and 36 at row 35.
Also, at the plating on tail, the ruffles should be aligned with the opening of the body that I SC together? (sorry for my English)

The plating on the tail should be aligned with the end of the body that was crocheted together.
I’ve tried everything and cannot print this out!! Ugh!!
I’m sorry you are having issues.

Ok thanks

Fold closed. Don’t stuff. Sew straight/open side to the edge of tail with the pointy end facing away.
