Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. Thread through last six stitches and pull up tight to close hole.

Eyes (make 2)

In black, Ch 2

CC to B, INC in each stitch (12), don’t cut the C color

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew above the white section as in the picture below.

Eyebrows (make 2)

In red, Ch 7
SC in 2nd chain from hook, SC remaining stitches (6)
Ch 1, SC in each stitch (6)
Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing. Sew to bird over the eyes, slightly overlapping the eye.

Large feathers (make 2)

In black, Ch 2

4 SC in 2nd Ch from hook

(INC, 3 SC) 2 times (10)
(INC, 4 SC) 2 times (12)
6-9. 4 rows SC

Small feathers (make 3)

Repeat instructions for Large Feathers through row 5
6-7. 2 rows SC
8. (DEC) 6 times (6).
Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Feather sewing instructions
Using one small and one large feather sew to the top of the head.
Using two small and one large feather sew to back of the body with the large feather in between the two small ones.

Top Beak

In Orange, Ch 2
4 SC in 2nd Ch from hook
3 SC in each stitch (12)
SC row
SC, (3 SC in next stitch, 2 SC) 3 times, 3 SC in next stitch, SC (20)
SC row
2 SC, (3 SC in next stitch, 4 SC) 3 times, 3 SC in next stitch, 2 SC (20)
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. Fold in half on the diagonal. Fold in half to make an open triangle for the beak.

Small Beak

Repeat instructions for Large Beak through row 5.
