Eve the Ovum

I’ve been helping my daughter launch her own lotion line. So far we have come up with Body Butter and Night Eye Cream. We will be trying Lotion Bars and Lip Balm next as soon as the supplies get here. We did accomplish some fun soaps and air plant cork planters.

Abbreviations
SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
DC- Double Crochet
CH- Chain
FO – Fasten Off
SL – Slip Stitch
INC – Make two Single Crochet in Same Stitch
DEC – Single Crochet two stitches together
BLO – Back Loops Only

Note: Entire project is worked in the round. Use a stitch marker or a scrap piece of yarn to mark the beginning of each row. Then you don’t have to count every row. Do not join unless instructed to.

Parentheses indicate a repeat. Repeat the stitches in the parentheses for the number of times indicated.

The bracketed number [] is the number of stitches at the end of each row.

I spread my increases out so there isn’t a seam on the finished piece. If you do not like this method, you can do regular increases.

Round 2: INC in each stitch [12].
Round 3: SC row [12].
Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing. Set aside to sew inside the body.

EYES
Cut a 4 lash section of lashes and glue to the back of the safety eyes and set aside to dry.

Round 2: INC in each stitch [12].
Round 3: (SC, INC) 6 times [18].
Round 4: (SC, INC, SC) 6 times [24].
Round 5: (3 SC, INC) 6 times [30].
Round 6: (2 SC, INC, 2 SC) 6 times [36].
Round 7: (5 SC, INC) 6 times [42].
Round 8: (3 SC, INC, 3 SC) 6 times [48].

Round 27: DEC 6 times [6].
Fasten off. Thread through the last row and pull up tight to close.

Row 1: SL Stitch in 2nd chain from hook, SC, HDC, 2 DC, 2 TC, 2 DC, HDC, 2 SC, Ch 1 turn
Row 2: 2 SL Stitch, 2 SC, 4 HDC, 2 SC, 2 Slip Stitch
Fasten off. Sew to middle of body, 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

BOW
In Hot Rose
Ch 11
Row 1: TC in 4th Ch from hook, DC, DC, SC, DC, DC, TC, TC [SC, 4 DC, 3 TC]
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Wrap tail around center to define the bow and the sew to the face above the eye.
