This year’s Mardi Gras creation – Pom poms

Boob pompoms

Every year for Mardi Gras, I try to create something new to add to my increasing collection of boob related accessories. (I know, I know). This year I had an order for a boob scarf that I barely got done before we left so I was running rather short on time. I decided to try my hand at pompoms.

It turned out pretty easy and very fast.

I used a 2-inch pompom maker. I wanted them to be fairly large.

Using your dark pink, wrap the center of the pompom maker about 10 times. Then using the light pink wrap over the center and to the sides of the pink as large as you want this ring to be. Then using the flesh tone wrap until your pompom maker is full. I left pretty long strings after I tied up the pompom so that I could attach them to barrettes. After I tied them on they were good to go.

The tended to flop around a little bit as my hair is really fine and doesn’t provide a very sturdy support system.

The same method could easily be used to make target pompoms which I might do later.

I’m still testing a couple of patterns, but they should be up soon. I lost my whole weekend of crochet due to traveling. I can crochet on a plane, but not in a car.
