Free Pattern Tuesday – Polar Bear Hat

Crocheted polar bear baby hat pattern

20120131-201907.jpg

This wasn’t originally what I planned on posting this week, but it is really cute. It’s worked back and forth on straight needles in garter stitch so it’s a good beginner project. The yarn does all the work. Make sure to check your gauge before starting so the hat fits correctly.

Free Pattern Tuesday – Blue Angry Bird

Crocheted Blue Angry Bird Pattern

20120124-201244.jpg

20120124-200926.jpg

I’m slightly addicted to Angry Birds. That’s putting it mildly. I like to sit in court and play while I wait my turn, which can take hours. Being a lawyer is boring.

You have a red bird and a pig, now toss a blue one into mix.

Have fun!

Free Pattern Tuesday – Devil Diaper Cover

Knitted Devil diaper cover pattern

20120117-195353.jpg

Here’s this weeks free pattern. I thought I should make a diaper cover to go with the Devil Baby hat that I posted last week. It’s also a combo knit and crochet pattern. The combo should make super cute Valentine’s Day cards. Have fun and I hope to have pictures of it on an actual baby after this weekend. Use #drunkenauntwendy if you post a picture.

Devil baby hat – free pattern Tuesday

Knitted Devil Baby Hat pattern

20120109-232600.jpg

I’m both a knitter and a crocheter and I like to combine both elements in patterns. This hat is a reflection of that. It’s only sized for itty, bitty babies right now and is probably only suitable for newborns or as a photography prop. There is a corresponding Diaper Cover.

Enjoy and hey I got it up on time. That Dexter marathon this weekend was good for something.

If you post use #drunkenauntwendy so I can find it.

Free Pattern – Red Angry Bird

Crocheted plush red angry bird

This wasn’t my original plan for today, but the weather has been so crappy I haven’t been able to get outside and get a decent photo of the tote bag pattern I was going to list today. I’ve decided to leave this one up forever. There are a lot of Angry Bird Patterns out there. If you post a picture of your completed Red Angry Bird, please use #drunkenauntwendy so I can find it and give you lots of likes.

Here’s the pattern. Enjoy.

If you want to make more there are patterns for Angry Birds in Blue, black and  Yellow.

There are also patterns for a helmet pig and a green pig.

Preview of Plex

Crocheted plex head

Update 2018: While I still have the pieces of Plex, my dogs ate the papers with my notes. I don’t know if I will ever finish him.

Once again I have gone overboard with the size. Here’s Plex’s head. It’s 10″ tall and 13″ wide. I have no idea how big this thing is going to end up being.

Pattern will be posted as soon as I am done.

Foofa Crochet Pattern – Free

Crocheted plush foofa large

Here is likely my last Yo Gabba Gabba pattern. I tried Plex, but my Chihuahuas ate my notes and I doubt I will start over again.

Muno and Brobee are available.

Reminder, these suckers are enormous. Foofa is approximately 3 feet tall. She takes a lot of yarn.

If you make her, let me know either via email or #drunkenauntwendy.

Sheldon the Crab – free crochet pattern

Crochet Crab pattern

I’ve decided this year to start blogging my patterns. They will be available free in the untested version. If you would like the tested .pdf version with no ads, visit my etsy shop Drunken Aunt Wendy. I also have kits available to make Sheldon in his alternate light blue and purple color scheme. This is my Cuddly Aquarium series. Other in this series include Puck the Seal, Max the Mantis Shrimp, Lennie the Jellyfish, Silas the Snail, Cecilia the Narwhal, and Lucy the Lobster. All are available in my Etsy Shop. I have a few more to design and print and I will issue an ebook.

Sheldon started out as a way for me to figure out how to make claws and then moved on from there.

The pattern is below. As most crocheters say, please provide a link back to me so that I can get credit for this design.
