Pinky – Free Crochet Pattern

Crocheted Pinky

I’m back!!! The county fair is over. School will be starting back soon. I actually have time to crochet and type. It’s wonderful!!

My apologies for this taking so long. You make his companion Brain and then plot to take over the world. It takes a lot of restraint not to do stop motion movies with these little guys.

If you make him, use #drunkenauntwendy so I can find him on your social media and give you lots of likes.

HEAD – in White
The head is made by doing an oval increase. Sometimes it helps to mark where your increases are going to go with a spare piece of contrasting yarn. Just note that the first row is worked on both sides of the starting chain. The face is then embroidered on before you finish the head and stuff him.

Betty the Yeti – Free Crochet Pattern

Free Crochet Yeti Pattern

This quarter I have taken up beading. It was really hard to start. Having the proper tools definitely makes it easier. I highly recommend using the right tools and amazon in order to make progress. Uploading images is proving difficult today. Make sure you check out what I have been up to on Instagram.

Meet Betty the Yeti. I created her for a contest. I didn’t win, but I adore her.

This caused me to start making all sorts of mythical/urban legend creatures. Make sure you check out Chtulu and Mothman.

She is made with Bernat Blanket Yarn which is what gives it the super soft snuggliness.

I’ve created a video tutorial for this pattern. You can follow along. For a written pattern

Free Crochet Pattern – Lucy the Lobster

Crocheted Lobster Pattern Drunken Aunt Wendy

I’m still beading and working on the new ami-along from amigurumipatterns.net. It is a princess and her elf friend. I will post pictures when I’m done. It is nowhere near as large as last month’s 2 foot tall pirate bear.

Lucy is next in the Cuddly Aquarium Collection. She’s in the testing process now. Let me know if I should do a video of how to do the claws. The other members of the Cuddly Aquarium include Louie the Shrimp and Gus the Baby Platypus. If you are a member of my mailing list you have access to even more from my Cuddly Aquarium series.

Lucy is a sassy lobster. She doesn’t appreciate being called a bottom feeder and she absolutely loved SNLs Diner Lobster sketch this week. Make her in any color. I think, blue, green or purple would be fun. Make sure to #drunkenauntwendy if you post a picture of your completed Lucy.

Crochet plush dog
Look at her sweater.

This is Lila. It was a fun amialong. I wonder what we are going to do next month.

Check the side Instagram feed for Westley and Buttercup. You will want to watch the Princess Bride and re-enact it with the plush dolls.

I’ve got some new designs in the works: Head bands with horns! My daughter is into anime and cosplay, she’s so excited.

Now for your free pattern: Frankenstein’s Monster.

I’ve already posted his bride. You can now make the matching set.

HEAD – in Limelight
The head is made by doing an oval increase. Sometime it helps to mark where your increases are going to go with a spare piece of contrasting yarn. Just note that the first row is worked on both sides of the starting chain. The face is then embroidered on before you add the hair and stuff him.

Ch 8
Round 1: SC in 2nd Ch, SC in next 5 stitches. 3 SC in last stitch. Working in the unused loops from the chain, SC 5, 3 SC in last chain. [18]

Rounds 7-17: SC in each stitch for 11 rows [48 stitches per row].
Fasten off. Note: This flat edge is what is attached to the hair. Place the oval increase side at the bottom in order to see placing for eyes and embroidery.
Place safety eyes between rows 10-11 approximately 8 stitches apart. It helps to fold the head flat so you can make sure it is centered on the oval.

Embroider a grey scar over the right eye by making a diagonal straight stitch and crossing the stitch with small straight stitches.

Next to the left eye you will want to embroider a black scar in the same fashion but more upright.

Using red, embroider a small straight mouth centered between the eyes about 5 rows lower.

Make sure you tie all of these off inside the head to prevent unraveling later.

Free Crochet Pattern – Jellyfish in a jar

Crochet your own Jellyfish in a jar

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I am almost done with Pinky. NARF! Brain and Pinky should be ready to take over the world this weekend.

Crocheted Pinky and the Brain
Did you see Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain are coming back with new content on Hulu? Make your own Yakko, Wakko, and Dot and sit back and watch the show with your little friends.

I’ve also finally got back to weaving. That is my goal for this year. I want to use this expensive piece of equipment that my husband was nice enough to allow me to purchase.

Warping the loom
It is very meditative, but warping takes forever. I’m thinking of adding a luxury line of handwoven goods based on Pantone’s color of the year – Ultra Violet.

Here’s your first free pattern for the New Year. It’s a Jelly Jar! This is a great way to use up scraps of yarn. You can make many different kinds.

Wicked Witch of the West – free Crochet Pattern

Crocheted Wicked Witch

I took some time off for Christmas. We had lots of family things and I didn’t have time to crochet.

Last week was my scheduled week to make something from another designer. I am intrigued by all things taxidermy, but I don’t like the idea of dead animals in my house.

Enter Animal Heads: Trophy Heads to Crochet. The link will take you to the Amazon page to buy it. I got my copy from the library. I love the library.

I did the little mouse head first. It was quick and easy and I adore the way it turned out.

Crochet Taxidermy

I wanted to make a little army of them to put all over my walls.

Then I decided to make the hare.

Crocheted taxidermy rabbit

This was a challenge. While there were charts in the book, none of them made any sense. The neck and shoulder portions were really confusing. I finally finished it, but I may be done with this book. If you get the book, it is in British Crochet terms, but those are easy enough to convert.

On to the free pattern: I made this Wicked Witch of the West for my daughter when she got the role of the Wicked Witch in the junior high musical last year. Remember this pattern is not tested so let me know if you have any issues. Please use #drunkenauntwendy if you post it so I can find your work.
